Strive started the way most good things in a small town do — with someone who couldn't stop helping people.

Stephen Hartzell spent years as an ER nurse, meeting people on the hardest day of their lives. What stayed with him wasn't the emergencies — it was how many of them didn't have to happen. He'd watched what people could do when they got proactive about their health instead of waiting for something to break. He wanted to be on that side of the story.

So three years ago, Stephen and his wife Tina opened Strive Wellness Lounge in Guthrie. Within a year, word had spread far enough that they opened their second location in Stillwater.

Ask their patients what makes Strive different and you'll hear the same things over and over: they actually listen. You feel at home. They treat you like a person, not a number. (And yes — some days there's a therapy dog to greet you at the door.)
